The Yoga Immersion Program opens the door to personal transformation and spiritual fulfillment. Rooted in the long-established and recognized lineage of Integral Yoga, this comprehensive 9-week course offers an opportunity to deepen your practice, experience Yoga as a way of life, and engage in a well-rounded course of study. All levels of practitioners are welcome; however, some prior experience is required.

“Yoga believes in transforming the individual before transforming the world. Whatever change we want to happen outside should happen within. If you walk in peace and express that peace in your very life, others will see you and learn something.”— Swami Satchidananda

This online course is primarily live and interactive, taught by multiple senior teachers, and offers substantial direct contact. An in-person attendance option is available on Saturdays. These in-person sessions are held locally in San Francisco at Integral Yoga Institute and at Mukunda Studio.

Curriculum Overview

The program offers in-depth learning across various aspects of Yoga practice:

  • Yoga Asana – Practice and theory based on the Integral Yoga Level 1 sequence, an inward, spiritually focused form of Hatha Yoga. This style is designed to lead practitioners toward inner peace and greater self-awareness. Emphasis will be placed on developing a personal Yoga practice.

  • Philosophy – A comprehensive Raja Yoga course exploring the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The course will conclude with a written review. A copy of the book with Swami Satchidananda’s commentary, along with several additional supplementary texts, is included in the course tuition.

  • Pranayama and Meditation – Guidance in establishing a personal practice rooted in traditional yogic methods, complemented by discussions on benefits supported by current scientific research and personal experience.

  • Anatomy – An introduction to basic physiology and the body’s systems to support understanding of the benefits of Yoga practice and to help make informed decisions about what to include in one’s personal practice.

  • Yogic Lifestyle – An introduction to traditional yogic paths that support a well-rounded yogic lifestyle, including Jnana Yoga, Karma Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga—core elements of the Integral Yoga tradition.

The Integral Yoga Immersion Program provides a strong foundation for those who may wish to become Yoga teachers. It serves as Module 1 of our two-part, 200-hour Teacher Training format. Whether or not you choose to teach, this program will support you in deepening your personal Yoga practice, taking it off the mat, and integrating it more fully into your daily life—helping to cultivate a lasting sense of ease in the body and peace in the mind.

Graduates who complete both Module 1 and Module 2 are certified to teach Beginner Level Hatha Yoga and are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT-200. You may choose to complete Module 2 within two years to fulfill the full certification requirements.

All materials shared online, including lecture recordings, will be available throughout the training and for three months after completion of the course.

Tuition includes free access to all Yoga classes offered at Integral Yoga Institute San Francisco and free access to IYTV, a large and ever-expanding library of recorded Integral Yoga Teachings and classes, throughout the duration of this course!

The entire course can be completed online. We offer optional in-person components, though they are not required. These non-mandatory in-person sessions are held locally in San Francisco. We are committed to providing a safe and high-quality program for all participants.
