The Space between Stillness and Conscious Movement
Living Yin explores the field where stillness, breath, and authentic movement meet. Rooted in classical yoga wisdom and informed by somatic awareness, this approach expands Yin beyond static shapes into a responsive, embodied practice where transformation arises through deep listening. Supported stillness, sensory awareness, and organic movement invite practitioners into the dynamic wholeness where Yin and Yang are experienced as one continuous process.
Living Yin is a professional Yin Yoga training for advanced yoga students, yoga teachers, and/or emerging Yoga Therapists.
This in-depth course explores the profound territory where stillness and conscious movement coexist. Rooted in classical yoga philosophy and science, and informed by contemporary somatic understanding, this approach recognizes Yin not as passive or fixed, but as alive, responsive, and ever-evolving.
While many Yin trainings emphasize prolonged stillness alone, Living Yin™ expands the practice by honoring the dynamic relationship between supported rest and authentic movement. Carefully supported shapes create safety and containment, allowing the nervous system to settle and awareness to deepen. From this foundation, organic movement may arise naturally — guided by breath, sensory awareness, and the body’s inherent intelligence rather than external choreography.
Students are invited into the subtle spaces between effort and ease, structure and spontaneity, stillness and expression. Within these spaces, deeper layers of somatic experience become accessible, offering pathways for integration, emotional processing, and embodied insight. Rather than forcing change, the practice cultivates conditions where transformation unfolds organically.
Drawing from Hatha, Tantra, Raja, and Tibetan traditions, Living Yin™ integrates pranayama, meditation, mudra, sound (nada), Yoga Nidra, and the full spectrum of the eight limbs of yoga. Practice is explored through the lens of the five koshas, energetic anatomy, and nervous system regulation, bridging classical yogic wisdom with modern somatic understanding.
Emerging research in neuroscience and trauma-informed movement supports the inclusion of slow, breath-linked transitions and mindful organic flow. Coordinating breath, awareness, and gentle movement enhances parasympathetic regulation, strengthens interoceptive awareness, and allows the nervous system to renegotiate patterns gradually and safely. Movement and stillness are understood not as opposites but as complementary expressions of embodied intelligence.
Living Yin™ invites practitioners into a deeper realization of Yin as a living process — where polarity softens, and wholeness emerges through direct experience.
This training emphasizes these guiding principles
Support
Stillness and awareness create safety and containment. Supported shapes allow the body to arrive without effort, establishing the conditions for deep regulation.
How to create a client based Therapeutic alliance, safe space, and warm environment with Trauma Informed Communication Skills, healing ways of care, inclusivity, and accommodation.
Listen
The senses open to what is present. Awareness shifts from doing to receiving, cultivating somatic listening and deeper connection to inner experience.
You will learn how to use all of your senses, intuition, and conscious connection to source in order to provide a space and guidance whereby your students also learn how to respect these subtle signs and messages from their deeper truth, source and body knowledge.
Emerge
From deep listening, authentic movement, insight, or stillness arises naturally. Nothing is forced; expression unfolds from the body’s inherent intelligence.
You will develop the ability to cue movement from a place of authenticity, careful timing, and deep awareness of safe and appropriate moving based on energetic anatomy as well as neuroscience, exercise science, and proper asana alignment.
