Meditation: Study and sharing of this timeless practice.

Join Swami Ramananda and Diana Meltsner for an hour of exploration of meditation. This is an opportunity to ask these two teacher trainers questions about meditation practices. A brief practice and a talk will be shared.

COMING SOON

Our Meditation Teacher Training program will enable you to go deeper in your own practice and guide your students to go deeper in theirs. You will receive instruction in the theory and techniques of meditation, including mantra, breath awareness, visualization, witnessing, and inquiry. You will also learn Yogic breathing techniques and how to refine and develop them. You will be taught different ways to incorporate meditation into Haṭha Yoga classes. After completing the training, you will have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to teach a six-week meditation course.

Curriculum

This course includes meditation practice, theory, teaching methodology, professionalism, and a practicum with the support of experienced staff. You will develop the skills to teach a workshop or meditation course, providing your students with the information, experience, and motivation they need to begin and maintain a regular meditation practice. You will also train to lead meditations for people who are new to meditation and seeking to establish a practice, as well as for experienced meditators who wish to deepen and expand their existing practice.

Your curriculum includes instruction and training in the following:

  • Theory of Yogic meditation
  • Benefits and therapeutic aspects of meditation practice
  • The principal techniques of meditation, including mantra, breath awareness, and witnessing
  • Developing a personal practice routine and a long-term practice plan
  • Overcoming obstacles to meditation practice
  • Integrating meditation practice into daily life
  • Leading Integral Yoga-style meditation and pranayama practices, guided meditations, and visualizations
  • Creating an outline for a workshop of any length
  • Developing a syllabus for a six-week meditation course
  • Leading discussions and answering questions about Yoga and meditation
  • Deepening and refining your own practice

Certification

At the end of the course, graduates receive a diploma certifying them to teach Integral Yoga Meditation. This course qualifies for 300-hour Integral Yoga Certification.

Prerequisites

The course is available to certified Yoga instructors of all traditions who have maintained a meditation practice for at least six months, as well as to anyone with a well-established meditation practice. A daily 30-minute meditation practice and attendance at one group Integral Yoga meditation session per week are required during the training.
